Strategic Communications Portfolio
About Me
I’m a seasoned communications professional and systems-change advocate with a deep passion for advancing equity and amplifying community voice. With over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, I’ve led strategic communications efforts that elevate underrepresented stories, foster cross-sector collaboration, and drive meaningful, systemic change. My work focuses on building inclusive narratives, strengthening organizational messaging, and mobilizing stakeholders around critical issues like education, economic mobility, and basic needs.
Currently, I serve as the Director of Communications at KConnect, where I shape and share stories that illuminate structural barriers and celebrate the collective efforts to dismantle them. I specialize in storytelling for impact, strategic messaging, content development, and project management. My long-term goal is to serve as a Director of Communications at a national organization where I can lead a team in advancing mission-driven work through compelling, equity-centered communications.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership and an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and I’m currently completing my master’s degree in Strategic Communication with a concentration in organizational leadership at Michigan State University. I also serve on the board of the Grand Rapids Pride Center, where I advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights and inclusion.
Outside of work, I find joy in nature—whether hiking, camping, or relaxing along Michigan’s lakeshores—with my blended family and our dogs. I’m especially fond of exploring the state’s beautiful Upper Peninsula.
As a strategic communicator and systems-change advocate, I specialize in translating complex ideas into clear, impactful messaging that elevates community voice, builds alignment, and drives collective action.
